Small businesses in Donegal can benefit from a new initiative to improve their relationship with banks, according to local Senator Brian Ó’Domhnaill.
The Department of Enterprise has published a guide to maximise the growth potential of local businesses.
“The ‘Your Business, Your Bank’ guide provides simple advice to companies on how they can tackle the challenges they face at this difficult time. The aim is to show businesses how to grow again,” explained Senator Ó’Domhnaill.
“This is a 17-page guide compiled by the Credit Supply Clearing Group, which is made up of business experts from both the public and private sectors. The group has looked at how firms in Donegal and across the country can rebuild relationships with their local banks and get the credit they need to develop.
“The guide provides advice on how entrepreneurs can get funding to start a new business. It also shows existing small companies how they can apply for credit and secure the funding they need to stay on top and pave the way for growth.
“This is great news for the many hard working small businesses here in Donegal, who are vital to our economy and our community as a whole. I recognise how difficult it has been for many to get the financial support they need during these challenging times but I am sure this guide will help cut through some of those difficulties.
“This means banks and businesses can work together to free up credit, kick-start growth and create jobs.
“Firms and entrepreneurs can contact their bank, the Department of Enterprise or my office to access the full guide,” concluded Senator Ó’Domhnaill.
