And last night one former supporter of her husband – the Deputy for Donegal North East – told donegaldaily.com: “Rosaleen is a very strong woman. She’s the rock of the family.
“She will get over the marriage break-up, there’s no doubt about that.”
Mr Blaney has left the family home in Rosnakill, he told supporters last week.
He broke the news at a party meeting having learned that the Mail on Sunday were planning to run a story.
He is now spending a great deal of time at his new home in Dublin, friends say.
