A rich collection of stories about life in the Donegal Gaeltacht has been meticulously recorded and will be launched tonight by Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaelige, Gaoth Dobhair.
The project, which has spanned five years, included interviews with people aged from fifty to over a hundred years old and was carried out by Gaoth Dobhair man Dónall Dinny Ó Gallchóir.
Not only does the research give an insight into life in the Gaeltacht but also an insight into the Irish language spoken at that time.
The research has seen the publication of Bailiúchán Béaloidis Ghaeltacht Thír Chonaill along with its website www.bealoidis.com.
Among those set to speak at the launch is Dinny McGinley, TD, Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Dr Lillis Ó Laoire of NUIG and Professor Dónall Ó Baoill of Queens University, Belfast.
