Altan singer and fiddle player Maireád Ní Mhaonaigh was the guest of honour today at the celebration’s at Letterkenny’s Irish-speaking primary school, Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin, when the school marked its twentieth anniversary.

From it’s humble beginnings in a car park to the modern building at Glencar, there are now almost 400 pupils and 19 teachers at the school.
RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta broadcast live from the school today (you can listen again on their website) and a special prayer service and blessing started the anniversary celebrations.
Special guest Maireád Ní Mhaonaigh launched a CD of songs recorded by pupils for the occasion.
