JANUARY – started off cold and became much milder as the month set in.
FEBRUARY – started mild and wet with some windy weather but as the month went on we saw sunny spells too.
MARCH – had started off on a dry and mostly sunny period and remained throughout the month due to areas of high pressure close to Ireland.
APRIL – after a wet start to April the month ended dry and sunny with above normal temperatures.
MAY – Depressions over the Atlantic were the main influence on Ireland’s weather during the month of May, giving generally unsettled weather across the country with very strong winds at times. it was also warm and windy. And we also saw some of our worst gorse fires ever in Donegal. There were 120 troops with specialist suits, three Air Corps helicopters (two equipped with buckets able to carry 1,200 litres of water) and 200,000 litres of water had been used in a bid to stop the flames spreading.
JUNE – June was a mostly unsettled month with a warm start and a cool end to the month with downpours in places.
JULY – July was a dull and cool month with below average rainfall in parts.
AUGUST – August was dry and sunny in parts and cool everywhere.

OCTOBER – Yet again we saw more heavy rainfall which was above average especially in the north of the country and here in Donegal
NOVEMBER – In November Ireland was hit yet again with more storms and rain with strong gales and damaging gusts. Temperatures started to drop later in the month.
