Damien McGeehan appeared at Falcarragh District Court sitting in Letterkenny this morning after being charged with Assault under the Non Fatal Offences Against The Persons Act.
The bail money was supplied by the accused man’s mother who was in court.
The case has been adjourned from Buncrana District Court last Thursday.
The charge relates to an incident in which a 19 year old woman was stabbed at Lough Road in Milford last night last Wednesday.
McGeehan, 21, of Loughanure, was wearing a black tracksuit, white trainers and appeared in court on crutches.
Judge Paul Kelly told McGeehan he was to stay away from the address where the incident took place and the injured woman or his mother faced losing her €1,000 surety.
He will appear again in court in July.
The injured woman is still recovering at Letterkenny General Hospital following the attack.
The woman suffered a number of injuries including what is believed to be a punctured lung.
Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening however.
