Donegal manager Jim McGuinness will allow his players to savour making history for 48 hours – and then it’s back to training for the All-Ireland quarter final.
Said Jim after the game: “It was quite a battle in the first half and we made too many unforced errors.
“But to be a point up after playing against the breeze wasn’t a bad place to be at half time.”
He continued: “The goal in the second half was crucial and the fact we tagged on a point almost immediately afterwards probably secured the win for us.
“But it’s only the end of one championship and the start of another one for us. So we will enjoy the celebrations and then get back to work at training on Tuesday.”
