A Letterkenny man has restored his late friend’s scooter and is to take it to America with him when he emigrates.
Well-known Letterkenny man Gary Doyle was just 29 when he fell to death from a balcony in Dublin in 2005.
He was a scooter enthusiast who left a number of scooters behind him when he died suddenly.
His friend Karl Campbell was given one of Gary’s rusted scooters – a Lambretta Jet 200.
Karl spent many hours renovating the scooter in memory of Gary and it is now worth an estimated €7,000.
Karl, who is now moving to New York with American wife Krista, plans to draw a picture of Gary or paint his name on the side of the machine.
Karl said he wants to have a memory of Gary whom he described as a close friend who is missed every day.
