Reverse psychology is always an effective tool in totally demoralising & destabilizing the enemy, sorry, the opposition, Mr Mc. Hugh. You build them (Ciarrai) up, & we, the mighty (Tír Chonaill) will knock them down, literally! Tír Chonaill abú, agus go bráth i gcónaí, i gcónaí.
Martin way to make your son proud like really unfair players read that and think they have no chance and who cares if county bigs them up it’s exciting and we are proud of our team
What planet, never mind county, are you from, Martin? Cop on and wake up! Donegal have too much fire power for chancers Kerry. The Gooch and co are having kittens at the thought of us. Donegal WILL win.
I fancy the gooch lad to test the donegal goalkeeper, he did make 2 good saves in last 2 matches, late on. But i think kerry will score at least 3 goals against him unfortunately.
martin i hope that your statement has the same effect on DONEGAL TEAM that pat spilanes had on kerry before the game with tyrone. and comes back to bite you on u know what
Fair play to you Martin,
Everything you said is from your head and not your heart.
You were the best Donegal ever had to offer.
This last year has been the worst Ulster Championship ever. From what was the best Province to the worst.
Donegal played no one yet.
They beat a very poor Cavan team, and even worse Derry team an and just got past a Tyrone team who got hammered by Kerry. The quicker this Championship is over the better so then we can read about other sports in the local papers. Most papers now are like reading the GAA MONTHLY. ROLL ON THE MUNSTER COUNTIES. The winner of the CORK and KERRY Semi Final will be Champions
what county is martin mc hugh from is it kerry or donegal he is some former donegal player backing the oppisition to win this present dgal team are streets ahead of what we had in 92
Donegal should go into this game with confidence in themselves. That is very different from the attitude that a lot of sunshine supporters have – turn up and we’ll beat Kerry off the pitch. The bookies have Kerry as favourites – rightly so. But Donegal will focus on themselves and nothing else. They will be out to win. We should be hopeful but not lose the run of ourselves. Great to see Gaelic games at the forefront of local media and discussion.
He has every right to back kerry, former player or not. Ulster is a very weak province at the moment, so why all the hype? The dublin minor team would win the ulster championship. Tyrone are useless now, and down are awful. But….why all the hype? LOL
Martin, sometimes it’s best to say nothing at all….or just write it in some red-top rag and shulk away hoping that no one will see it. But you didn’t read to re-print it here for the rather more discerning readers of Donegal Daily! So far all comers have certainly found that Donegal are the team to reckon with. You have just put the Kingdom on a rather high pedestal.
You see it matters very little what you think; it matters how fit the lads are and how focussed they are on listening to those at the core of the team whose job it is to ensure their physical & mental well being. I have no doubt that McGuinness can motivate his charges to dish out the ass-whipping you seem to find them incapable of delivering. Then, no doubt we will have the loquacious young McHugh (a talented footballer) in the tunnel afterwards waxing lyrical on something he relishes, success, and again having to make allusion with a shake of his head to “Sure the boy up there wouldn’t believe in us!”.
They will then focus on the next target having overcome your diatribe….cheers!
@ Thomas,
HaHa Thomas,
liking ur forefront of discussion.
Nothing else to talk about at the minute.
Cricket season over.
If im wrong with the result after sunday.
i;ll congratulate you but i doubt it
to the Donegal Trekker,
I dont understand you saying ( it matters how fit the lads are and how focussed they are on listening to those in the team to ensure their physical and mental well being).
Well let me explain something to you Mr Donegal Trekker, fitness is not everything in sport unless its athletics.
I never seen anyone looking for Linford Christie to play football.
Donegal are the fittest team about but only have around 8 very good footballers.
Kerry are a team who are not as fit as Donegal but they have 15 brains on the pitch and brains win over fitness.
“Well let me explain something to you Mr T….!”
I am rather perplexed at your narrow band of vision. Fitness was just one attribute I spoke of in relation to this Donegal team; you seem to have missed: focused, listening, mental well being and motivate….ah well lets hope the lads are not so myopic!! ,
As a Donegalman living in Kerry I have had to put up with a lot of criticism of our teams style of play. The best way to answer those critics is to do it on the pitch. If we can keep it tight for 50mins I think we have a chance given the fitness of this team.
But be under no illusions Kerry want this All Ireland with Gooch as captain. It will take a huge performance but is feidir linn!

Stop being an aul wet blanket McHugh and trying to spoil the craic before our laast game of the Championship. tirconaillabu
Last game of the season John?! Take each game at a time! Our ‘next’ game, not necessarily our last!

We have everywright to hype the team for far too long we had nothing to hype so think positive Kerry will get more than there bargaining for
