BOTH parts of the duet behind an internet have Donegal roots – or so they claim!
Senegal Jimmy and Rory Gallagher from Kilcar struck up a song supporting Jimmy McGuinness and the Donegal GAA team while sitting on a beach in Lanzarote.
A few hits on YouTube last week soon escalated after an appearance on donegaldaily.com – and last night passed the 50,000 views.
‘Jimmy’s Winning Matches’ is certainly catching the imagination of our readers worldwide with views coming in from 58 different countries including the USA, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand and of course Senegal.
Speaking to donegaldaily, Kilcar man Rory told us: “Jimmy is super. He sells the best fake rolex in Lanzarote.
“Incredibly he knows 1,000 towns on the map of ireland, he speaks six languages, he sings ‘Molly Malone’ and ‘The Fields of Athenry’ in Irish pubs everynight.
“He says his father is the ambassador for Senegal to France! And he now claims his great great grandfather comes from Donegal.. not Moneygall. Priceless!”
It certainly is!
