Naomh Columba 14/08/2012
Starting with the championship results from the weekend, our reserves enjoyed a hard fought one point victory over Naomh Colmcille, while our seniors drew with the same opposition, both sides finishing with nine points a piece. We were awaiting confirmation of this weekend’s fixtures at the time of going to press. In underage news, press our under 14 lads are due to play St Nauls in the Division 2 Championship Final this Wednesday evening. Game set for 7.30pm in Dunkineely. On Friday evening our under 13s are due to host Kilcar in the league. 6.30pm throw-in time at Páirc na nGael. On Saturday morning our under 15 team will travel to Ballintra, to face Naomh Mhuire in the Ógsport competition. Throw-in set for 12.30. Many congratulations to Pádraig Byrne, Teelin, and the County under 16 lads on their Buncrana Cup victory last weekend. The club wishes to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely everyone who helped to make the bank holiday weekend a success. We were delighted with the support for the Temple Street Charity match on Sunday last, for what is a very worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who helped out and supported this event. Many thanks also to everyone who attended the marquee on Sunday night. A special thank you to everyone who helped out in the organisation and management of the night, particularly Séamus J Mc Ginley and his bar staff, and Owen Doherty for the disco. The next event on the calendar is the Temple Street Charity Cycle, taking place on Sunday, September 9th, from Donegal Town to Glencolmcille. There has been huge interest in this event, and we are delighted with the response received. Anyone who has yet to register for the cycle, please contact Brendan Doherty on 087 7008286, Owen Doherty on 086 0847967, or Caitríona Nic Seoin on 086 1970127. A fundraising table quiz and barbeque will be held in the Glen Head Tavern after the cycle, set for 7pm.
