The side-kick to Rory Gallagher in the hit Donegal GAA song ‘Jimmy’s Winning Matches’ was given clearance by the Irish authorities to come here.
But Kilcar man Rory says his close pal Jimmy won’t be able to make it because of bureaucratic issues with the Senegal authorities.
“Jimmy flew to Madrid to the Senegalese embassy to sort it out but they told him that he would have to fly home to Senegal to get the right visa and he can’t do that until October,” said Rory today.
It means Jimmy won’t make to Dunlewey for a pre-match concert on Tuesday.
But Rory insisted: “Jimmy still wants to go to Donegal so we’ll see what happens and hopefully he can come over in October.
“He’s in for welcome.
“Hopefully – fingers crossed – the other Jimmy, Jimmy McGuinness, can win one more match.”
