The fourth concert of 2012 “An tIarthar” 30th September, 3pm will take place at Conwal Parish Church, Letterkenny.
After the summer break, the Donegal Chamber Music Society continues with its Autumn concerts this Sunday 30th September in Conwal Paris Church.
This Sunday afternoon concert series has been a great success this year. In every concert the Donegal Camerata ensemble presents music from the core of the Classical repertoire together with some of the most popular tunes of the history of music.
“An tIarthar” is the title of this fourth concert of the series. It will include music from Russia and Central Europe and an Irish piece chosen from the Contemporary Music Centre (CMC) library in Dublin.
Ian Wilson’s “An tIarthar” was composed in 2010 for the Donegal Chamber Orchestra as part of the Arts Council’s “Artist in the Community Scheme”. Members of the Camerata were involved in the process of the creation of this piece and they are looking forward to the premiere of this new version for String Quintet.
DONEGAL CAMERATA String Quintet (2 violins, viola, cello, doublebass) Works by F. J. Haydn, P. I. Tchaikovsky, Ian Wilson (CMC) & A. Dvorak.
