Has Gary Martin not heard of ‘Can’t pay, won’t pay’?
i will have something to wipe my arse with
talk all you want, send as many letters as you want, take me to court, waste your own money I WONT BE PAYING if i had the money. Why should i pay a tax on my house which is worth 85k in negative equity because of how the government ran this country? Anybody buying a family home had to pay mad prices just for 3 bed semi? And now when people need to move for reasons we cannot. When the government wipes the negative equity debt which THEY created of all family homes bought during the boom I will the tax.
I suspect when the Revenue take over the collection of these charges that they can and will attach wages, DPS payments etc. They will collect it one way or the other.

Blah! Blah! Blah! Does Martin really think they or the revenue has the resources to track, and prosecute 30k households in Donegal alone, forget about nationally, even 3k household per county would colapse the system.
People hold firm, because its never been about the initial 100eur, but the 1000-1500eur it will become within a few years, and one will still not receive any decent services, whilst Martin, and the County manager, etc will keep on drawing down wages in excess of that of the Spanish PM.
People will not be bullied by these letters, and I would love to see revenue take blood from a stone..
The money collected from the household charge goes into a central pot, and will be used to pay off the interest on the troika loans. The cuts to services were all going to happen anyhow. Going by govt.. figures , 50% of households have paid nationally, can the council not absorb 1.3% reduction in overall budget, because that is all the deficit is, compared to the Central local authority budget nationally of c.6 billion Eur.
This is all smoke and mirrors folks..

Bear, Im not blaming indiscrimintly only the people who managed and ran the country. I know there are loads of people who bought to make profit and become landlords. Family homes are totally differnt.
If they have the money to post the letters then they don’t need any more money?
Donegal county council is probably the most inefficient organisation in the country,get their own house in order before they come begging to anyone.
Maybe if they sold the tens of thousands worth of plastic drainage pipes that have been lying in their Gweedore yard the last three years and which will never be used they’d find some of their budget.
Ok, what has all that tax I have been paying from work been going on?
If it wasn’t the same amount as the bail out fund, may be people would of just done it.
Remember no one can force you to register something you don’t want too.
