Two men accused of the murder of a Donegal man in Glasgow have blamed each other the beating.
William McKeeney, originally from Malin Head, died in the Victoria Hospital after being assaulted.
Asif Rehman and Adel Ishaq are on trial charged with murdering Mr McKeeney in a racially aggravated attack.
The High Court in Kilmarnock heard yesterdat that 20-year-old Rehman, admitted killing the 57-year-old in Melville Street, Pollokshields, on January 15 last.
However, Rehman claimed Mr McKeeney’s skin colour and nationality had nothing to do with the attack.
Rehman stated that his co-accused dealt the fatal blow, but Ishaq told the court he had not been responsible for beating the Malin Head native to death.
The murder trial has previously been told that Rehman was heard in a phone call saying that he and Ishaq attacked Mr McKeeney “because the white ‘C’ was getting wide.”
Rehman and Ishaq, both prisoners, deny the racially aggravated murder of Mr McKeeney in January and showing previous malice and ill-will towards him. Rehman is said to have been on bail at the time.
Ishaq denies attempting to defeat the ends of justice by giving clothing and footwear to Umar Bhatti, who allegedly burned and destroyed them, and attempting to induce Bashir Ahmed to give him £500 so he could flee Glasgow.
