Former Donegal senior manager and All-Ireland winner in 1992 Declan Bonner has been appointed as the new manager of the county minor team.
Bonner who managed the Donegal senior side from 1997-2000 also managed Gweedore to a county championship in 2006 and had spells managing his local side Na Rossa and neighbours Dungloe.
His success in winning the U16 Buncrana cup last year made him the hot favourite to take over from Stephen Friel following his two year spell in charge which ended after a poor performance in the Ulster Minor championship defeat to Tyrone in Ballybofey.
Bonner will be hoping he can bring success to Donegal who have struggled at minor level for the last number of years, the last time Donegal tasted success at minor level was when they won the Ulster championship in 2006.
It has also been confirmed that Maxi Curran will take charge of the Donegal U21’s for another year.
Curran led Donegal to the Ulster final this year when they were beaten by a Cavan side that completed a hat-trick of Ulster u21 successes.
Curran will be hoping they can go one better this year.
