What a few days it has been for Seamus Coleman – he became a father for the first time yesterday, and earlier this afternoon he netted a super goal for Everton in their match against Stoke City.
Coleman’s wife Rachel gave birth to a beautiful baby girl yesterday.
The happy couple named their little girl Lilly, and received hundreds of messages of goodwill on the birth of their first arrival.
However, Coleman didn’t have long to revel in the joy of fatherhood – as he had a match with Everton this afternoon.
Coleman, always the consummate professional put the euphoria of becoming a father to line out for Everton in their clash away to Stoke City.
Coleman got on the end of a teasing cross from Tom Cleverley to send his diving header into the far corner to give Everton a 2-0 lead.
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson described the goal as a ‘super finish’ from Coleman.
Everton currently leads 3-0 at half-time.
