The following footage released by the RNLI shows the treacherous circumstances they must face each and every time they go out to sea.
The video is made up of clips captured on lifeboat cameras across the country.
Donegal features several times in the video. A clip is shown of a horse being rescued from Lough Derg, and boats in extremely choppy waters being harnessed to safety in Lough Swilly and Arranmore. Bundoran also features in the video.
The RNLI don’t just rescue people; but horses, dogs, and dolphins too!
RNLI personnel carry pagers 24 hours a day, and are ready to respond at a moment’s notice to save lives at sea.
Comments on the video include words of praise and gratitude for their heroism.
