March 10, 2017

A Judge has asked for time to read the victim impact report from the partner of a man who was killed following a crash in Burt in 2014.

83-year-old Moira Edwards appeared at Buncrana Court yesterday charged with careless driving causing the death of motorcyclist Lenny Nelson.

Mr Nelson, who was originally from Bond’s Hill in the Waterside area of Derry, died as a result of the collision which occurred at around 10.30pm at Lisfannon, Burt on 30 October 2014.

Judge Paul Kelly was given a victim impact statement on behalf of Mr Nelson’s partner.

He deferred sentencing until next Wednesday at Letterkenny District Court.

The accused woman was in court with members of her family as was the partner of the late Mr Nelson.
