Further weather warnings have been issued ahead of another cold night and potentially dangerous road conditions tomorrow (Tuesday).
Met Eireann have a Status Yellow low temperature alert in place tonight from 8pm to Tuesday morning at 10am as freezing conditions and widespread frost continue.
AA Roadwatch have reminded motorists that while much of the frost has cleared today, snow and ice continues to linger on many routes including secondary roads and sheltered areas.
Temperatures could dip to between 0 and -4 degrees tonight, bringing more icy roads and footpaths.
Donegal County Council have confirmed that all major routes will be gritted tonight from 4pm. Motorists are warned to assume that no road is ice free.
It will be dry in most areas of the northern counties tonight apart from isolated showers in coastal areas, forecasters said. Tuesday will begin dry, clear and frosty. Rain will set in by the afternoon and evening, which could turn into snowfall at higher altitudes.
