Fans from all over the world are wishing Daniel O’Donnell a big Happy Birthday as he turns 56 years old today.
This year has been filled with many achievements for Daniel – with awards, tour success, new albums, TV fame and a book release being just some of the highlights of the Kincasslagh man’s year.
Daniel’s popular new Christmas album is enjoying big chart success – entering the UK album charts at number 19. He is rising up the list of the Irish Charts too, entering at number 34 in its first week and reaching number 17 this week.
Christmas with Daniel O’Donnell has become a hot favourite for fans and gift buyers. The 39-track festive special CD and DVD set is available now on Amazon, with a nostalgic Vinyl edition also a top pick.*
Daniel won’t be putting his feet up on his birthday today, as he is due to put on a concert in Harrogate on his Back Home Again tour.
The singer already received a special birthday surprise last week when he visited St Margaret of Scotland Hospice before his tour. The caring singer spent time meeting fans, taking photos and singing for staff and patients, brightening up the day of all in the community. As a thank you, they sang Happy Birthday to him, sharing live videos of the event online.
As well as enjoying success in the charts and music scene, Daniel’s TV career is growing even further. This week, his RTE series with wife Majella – Daniel and Majella’s B&B Roadtrip – has been listed by the Irish Times as one of the Top 10 Best Irish TV Shows of 2017. The programme is now in the running for a Ticket Award from the newspaper.
Fans are looking forward to seeing the couple on RTE’s Room to Improve property show in the New Year, alongside another Road Trip series.
You don’t have to wait until then to see Daniel on television. He will be on the small screen tonight with Showband Stars in an episode of Opry Dhoire on TG4 at 9.30pm.
