I know that they all might sound tempting.
They all promise to ‘fix you’, to help you to ‘detox and cleanse’ December out of your system.
Pills, shakes, wraps,detoxes, cleanses, teas, coffees, waist trainers, etc.
The list is endless and it grows every year.

There have been a number of weight loss products that have entered the market here in the last few years and they all follow the same pattern:
1. They start off by selling you their products.
2. Then they want to enlist you to sell them.
3. Then they want you to get your friends to sell them also.
When the market starts to realise what they are doing, they tweak the way that they market their product.
These types of companies pay huge amounts of money to marketing experts who know what buttons to push when it comes to your insecurities.
They give you scientific claims based on biased research; most research is actually done by the companies themselves.
They tell you their products will do more than they actually do, only to blame you when their products fail.
If you didn’t lose weight it’s because you didn’t follow the instructions properly.
The real kicker is, they know that their product is set up for failure, and so does their salespeople, but don’t worry, because if it didn’t work the first time, all you have to do is to sign up again and maybe it will work the next time…….
They have you in an endless loop of failure and you are too afraid to say anything, because you are convinced that the failure is yours and not theirs.
These products also work on sever calorie restriction and want you to replace food with drinks or pills that can leave you eating around 120cals per meal?
Unfortunately, this isn’t a meal. It’s barely a snack and trying to survive on a calorie restriction that is this low can only lead to failure.

Yes, severe calorie restriction will lead to weight loss, but it is certainly NOT a healthy, sustainable way to do it and can lead to health issues.
While these companies promise that they only have your best interests at heart, they don’t. They will however, take your money and leave you back to where you started.
If you really want to achieve success in January, you need 6 things.
• Drink plenty of water
• Eat plenty of fruit and veg.
• Eat protein with each meal
• Have a sensible training plan.
• Have some patience.
• Be active on a daily basis.
These 6 steps will help you to achieve success and you will be able to sustain these new habits once you get them in place.
