A comprehensive traffic management system is to be put in place for the upgrade of waterworks in the Ballybofey area as far as Crossroads.
Local councillor Patrick McGowan has been given a schedule of work for the plans by Irish Water.
However, it appears that the works will take up to four months from December.
A spokesman for Irish Water revealed “Work on the Ballybofey South backline is indicated to commence late 2018 to continue to March 2019, however, could be subject to change.”
Irish Water has awarded the Donegal Countywide Rehabilitation contract which comprises the replacement of 40km of pipework across 13 separate locations in Donegal.
The contract is commencing in September 2018 and pipe laying works will carry on for 14 months, which will generally run to the end of 2019.
The Ballybofey South backline towards Crossroads is one of the 13 sections of pipe.
The Contractor is developing a full programme of works in consultation with stakeholders, including Donegal County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
Irish Water added they intend to regularly update Elected Representatives of progress and of detailed programme dates for each section of pipework as they become known.
