Donegal chef Brian McDermott has pulled off an amazing coup after his hotel and restaurant was named ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the prestigious Georgina Campbell Awards in Dublin.
The Foyle Hotel based in Moville only opened earlier this summer but has firmly established itself as the place to go for fine food and accommodation.
A delighted Brian told Donegal Daily that the award was the pinnacle of his career to date.
He said “Georgina Campbell is considered the most independent and highly-thought of food critics about.
“This is not any old award or an award you can pay for. Georgina Campbell pays for her food and does not tell you when she is coming to visit your restaurant.
“This is beyond belief and I’m overwhelmed by such an award nationally. I can safely say that this is the pinnacle of my career to date,” he said.
