There are growing fears for the safety of missing Derry pensioner Jean McFahey after her car was located in Buncrana this morning.
Police have confirmed that the red Ford Fiesta which Ms McGahey was travelling in has been found on the beach in Buncrana, close to the Buncrana Pier.
Gardaí and Lough Swilly RNLI are conducting an extensive search of the area.
The public appeal continues for information on Ms McGahey’s whereabouts.
The 72-year-old woman was last seen at 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon in the Drummard Park area of Derry city.
The PSNI believe that she then travelled across the border into Inishowen.
Ms McGahey is described as being about 5’2 in height, slim build with short grey hair.
She is believed to have been wearing a Kaftanmulti-coloured nightie, a long dark blue raincoat and gold flat footwear.
