MARY Coughlan has announced funding to help four primary schools in the county.
Scoil Bhride in Convoy, Frosses National School, Scoil Oilibheir Pluinceid Naofa in Ranafast and Convoy Joint National School will all get cash for to carry out long overdue improvement works.
These include installing a CCTV security camera system at Scoil Bhride and replacing windows at Convoy Joint National School.
Improvements to the yard at Scoil Oilibheir Pluinceid Naofa will be carried out with the help of this money and a new storm porch will be built at Frosses National School.
Tanaiste Coughlan said the work will “allow staff and pupils to work and learn in the best possible environment as well as having a school of which they can be rightly proud.”
The announcement came in the same week massive cuts were announced in capital grants to schools – as well as increased bus fares for kids.
