A NUMBER OF AREAS in Donegal could lose water supplies later this evening.

Council officials will decide if areas served by the Lough Mourne supply should be switched off to conserve dwindling supplies.

Those hit by water restrictions could once again include Convoy, Castlefin,  Raphoe and Lifford.

Supply has also be turned off to the Twin Towns area and the Rosses and Gweedore areas in recent nights.

Council officials believe many people are running taps in an effort to avoid burst pipes.
