LETTERKENNY AC’s Darren McBrearty clocked a stunning time at the Vienna Indoor Classic in Austria tonight.
The running sensation crossed the line in 1.47.87 – making him the fastest Irishman over 800 metres this year.
The time was also qualifies him for the European Senior Indoor Championships in Paris next month, an incredible achievement for the athlete.
McBrearty was running his second half in two days, having finished a close second to his clubmate Mark English in Cardiff on Sunday. His time then was 1:48.88. His previous best indoor time was 1:51.29.
