GARDAI in Ballyshannon are continuing to monitor a stand-off between residents and Travellers ahead of a meeting tomorrow.
Residents living near the Mart on the Station Road in the town last week blocked entrances to a site there which had been used by Travellers in the past.
A number of caravans and other vehicles were prevented from re-entering the site.
A stand-off ended after Gardai persuaded all sides to meet – and a further meeting will be held tomorrow.
Despite the truce, officers are continuing to patrol the area.
Earlier today a meeting between local political representatives, the Gardai and the Donegal Travelers Project took place.
The travelling families have agreed not to enter the site until another meeting on Monday morning.
