Highlight of competition in the Odyssey last weekend was Tori Pena winning the pole vault at 4-10m a national championship equalling performance and with a best of 4-30 from a few weeks ago has been named on the 8 strong Irish team for Paris European indoors next weekend.
She is ranked in the European top 20 . In the underage section a whooping 16-07m shot from John Kelly certainly up there with the best performances over the 2 days some 5m ahead of his nearest rivals.
Twins Leanne and Karen Kelly were in winning form the former taking the 800m in 2.33.7 and Karen the high winner at 1.36 and if she could climb to 1.40 a medal is on the cards . Sasha Byrne in long and high 1.30 and 4.30 in long for silver.
Padraic Patton on the back of a good winter bronze in the 800 as was the case in his age range for Oisin Gallen who needs to improve from 2-18 to 2-15 to grab a medal in the weeks ahead when he builds on this Ulster form towards nationals .
