Pup
A seal pup who was rescued after it got caught on fishing lines at Tullan Strand near Bundoran is to be released back into the wild.
Holly the seal will be released back into the waters of Donegal after spending two months at the Irish Seal Sanctuary in Wexford.
The animal had serious wounds around its neck from the fishing lines but they have all be cleaned and healed and is ready to go back fishing in the seas around Bundoran.
Appeal
Ballybofey man Brenan McLaughlin, Ireland’s longest surviving lung transplant patient, says none of Donegal’s political parties are addressing serious healthcare issues.
Mr.McLaughlin, 43, a cystic fibrosis sufferer, says nobody will be left in Ireland to vote apart from the disabled and the sick.
“I have listened to the parties and they all sound the same,” he fumed.
Poets and they know it!
Students from Rosses Community School have recorded a CD on the life and times of Ardara-born poet Don Byrne.
The students used their own purpose-built studio to undertake the project after hearing about the poet whose book ‘Soft Shoes and Sunshine’ touched a nerve with them.
Joe Rodgers, manager of the Store Studios, helped the students record the CD which will be released in the near future.
