A CAMPAIGN against Sinn Fein in the election has been orchestrated by the SDLP, donegaldaily.com can reveal today.
Members of the family of Jean McConville, who was murdered and ‘disappeared’ in Co. Louth by the Provisional IRA, have been calling on the voters to reject Sinn Fein at the polls tomorrow.
They have also asked the people of Louth to reject Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams who is running for a Dáil seat in the constituency.
Now we can reveal that the media campaign around the ‘boycott’ calls has been run by a senior SDLP Press Officer Seamus Murphy.
Mr Murphy has issued a number of press releases on behalf of the McConville family, including schedules of protests.
Today a Sinn Fein source in Donegal told donegaldaily.com: “With Assembly elections in the North in a couple of months, it appears there are some people in the SDLP who have started their campaign against Sinn Fein already.
“However we believe their interference in this election campaign will not work.”
