The man behind Cargo Defenders – an alert system to reduce incidents of theft of cargo transported by side-loaded truck trailers – walked away with the €10,000 top prize.
He is pictured here with one of the main sponsors and Dragon judge Hugh Downey of Sharp Design.
The night was a huge success & the calibre of all the finalists was superb. They pitched their ideas to perfection, had polished presentations and all spoke extremely well.
Seven local entrepreneurs went head to head in the Dragon Factor for a fantastic €10,000 business prize package at the live final in Craoibhin Community and Enterprise Centre.
Aidan left walked away with a range of prizes including €2,000 in start-up capital, a website, a stationery suite, financial and legal advice package, office equipment and signage.
The Dragon Factor, the brainchild of the voluntary committee at Craoibhin, was inspired by the success of RTE’s Dragon’s Den.
The committee launched this idea earlier this year in the hope of injecting new optimism into the local economy, in some small way.
Said Aidan: “I’m over the moon. It was a great night – and I’m just delighted to have won.”
More than 250 people attended the event.
