CELTIC went eight points clear at the top of the SPL today after a 2-0 win over Hamilton in a game they could have won by much more.
Nearest rivals Rangers – who play tomorrow – have three games in hand.
Kris Commons scored both goals. But the talking point was an incident when Hamilton’s Gary McDonald struck Celtic’s Baram Kayal in an off the ball incident in the second half. Video replays suggest McDonald should have been sent off.
In the football Celtic made the breakthrough when Scott Brown set up Kris Commons in the 42nd minute and the Scotland winger’s outswinging piledriver from 25 yards swerved into the corner of the net.
Hamilton gifted Celtic a second goal seven minutes into the second half, with David Elebert rolling a pass back into the path of Commons who curled it into the top corner from just inside the penalty box.
The Hoops are on their way to Donegal tonight for their friendly with Finn Harps tomorrow.
