A SEMINAR YOU CAN BANK ON WITHOUT THE CHARGES

WE may have had our fill of banks but a unique seminar could be about to give the power back to the people of Donegal.

The unusual ‘Timebank’ seminar takes place in Letterkenny’s Mount Errigal Hotel tomorrow (WED) in a bid to get people making more of their time.

All those involved with community and voluntary groups including sporting, youth, and faith based organisations and the geenral public is invoted to attend.

The aim of the seminar is to bring people together who can swap their time on a ‘timebank’ basis and nopt have to pay people with money they don’t have.

Time banks are a new and exciting way for people to come together to help others and help themselves at the same time by sharing their skills.

Participants “deposit” their time in the bank by giving practical help and/or support to others and are able to “withdraw” their time when they need something done themselves.

Everyone’s time is equally valued. There are different models of timebanking including – person to person, person – agency and agency – agency. Timebanking has the potential to strengthen communities through reciprocity.

To book your place at this exciting FREE seminar please contact Joanne Curran on (074) 9172376 or e-mail: jcurran@donegalcoco.ie Please note spaces are limited so early booking is advisable.
