BRILLIANT SUNSHINE MAKES IT A SPECIAL ST.PATRICK’S DAY FOR DONEGAL

The people of Donegal put the recession behind them and got involved in real community spirit as thousands of took part and watched St.Patrick’s Day parades across the county.

There may have been a chill in the air but bright Spring sunshine brought the crowds out in huge numbers from Bundoran to Buncrana and in between.

The biggest parade was undoubtedly in Letterkenny where the town is celebrating its 400th anniversary.

There were also parades in many others parts of the county including Donegal Town, Gaoth Dobhair, Ballyshannon, Dungloe, Fanad and Falcarragh.

Gardai reported a trouble-free day after from a few horses and dogs who forgot to clean up after themselves in various towns and villages!

We have included a few pictures from around the county which donegaldaily.com readers have kindly sent it and we will continue to post them throughout tomorrow.

We hope you all had a lovely day and didn’t drown the shamrock too much!
