A Donegal man could well be in line to take over as the next manager of the Republic of Ireland when Giovanni Trapattoni quits.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle qualified to wear the green shirt because of his parents who are from Gortahork and Gweedore.
The highly-respected manager often returns to Donegal to spend holidays here.
Now we could be seeing a lot more of him after he admitted he fancies taking over from Trap if the Italian packs it in after the 2012 world cup campaign.
“When big decisions come, I’m prepared to make them. It would be very difficult to turn down Ireland,” he admits.
