AIRPORT EMPLOYEES GET READY FOR LIFT-OFF FOR CANCER RUN

FOUR employees of Donegal Airport are set to give thousands of other runners a ‘run for their money’ when they compete in the Phoenix Park 10K in April.

Denis Forker, Eamon Freel, Donal Curran and Liam McFadden are members of the Fire Service and Air Traffic Control at Carrickfin.

And all proceeds from their run will be donated directly to the North West Cancer Support Group – a charity they are very much aware of.

The fund helps patients and their families with the travel costs to and from Dublin with Aer Arann.

The flight, which is only 50 minutes, greatly reduces the journey time and anxiety many patients suffer as they continue their treatment for the condition.

Donation sheets for the Fab Four’s run on April 11th are out in local business shops/pubs and the lads are delighted to be associated with this cause.

“We all know there are not many homes in Donegal that have not been affected by cancer and this is a small way of saying thank you North West Cancer Support for the terrific work they do,” said an airport spokesperson.
