DONEGAL WERE in impressive form again in Division 2 clash against Antrim in Ballyshannon this afternoon, comfortably winning by a margin of nine points.
Jim McGuinness’ side stormed into a 0-05 to 0-00 lead with Ryan Bradley, Michael Murphy and Kevin Cassidy amongst the scorers.
Free-taker Tomas McCann and Terry O’Neill opened Antrim’s account and the gap was down to 0-08 to 0-06 by half-time.
Colm McFadden and Saffrons’ substitute Brian Neeson fired home second half goals, but the Tir Chonaill men were comfortably ahead by the final whistle.
It means Donegal are all but assured of a place in the Allianz Division Two final, but Tyrone, Derry and Laois are all still very much in the hunt.
With one round of fixtures to go the county has 10 points, two clear of Laois, Tyrone and Derry.
However, were Donegal to lose their unbeaten run to Laois on the final day and Tyrone and Derry also win then all four would be on ten points and the top two places would come down to points difference, meaning the Tir Chonaill County are not yet assured of their place in the decider.
