The Letterkenny Children’s Orchestra presented last Friday 8th April a lovely recital at the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny.

The event was included as part of the National celebrations of LOVE:LIVE MUSIC IRELAND’S NATIONAL MUSIC DAY 2011.

The show called LETTERKENNY CHILDREN’S ORCHESTRA & FRIENDS offered a colorful evening of Classical Music featuring the children of today who will entertain and delight coming generations in Donegal.

We listened small ensembles (quartets, duets) by members of the Donegal Chamber Orchestra and the Donegal Youth Orchestra performing pieces by Vanhal and Purcell plus a beautiful solo recorder sonata by Haendel.

The concert finished with the Junior ensemble on the stage playing seven joyful pieces by Suzuki, Gluck and Bach.

At the end of the concert all the performers came together to celebrate this “Fiesta
de la Música” in Donegal.
