Ram-raiders escaped with an undisclosed sum of money after crashing into the front of a Chinese takeaway in Letterkenny last night.

The gang drove a car into the front of the Kung Fu Kitchen takeaway on the Kilmacrennan Road just above Letterkenny General Hospital.

They crashed through the aluminium doors and windows and then robbed an undisclosed sum of cash and a cash register.

As well as the cash, an estimated €1,000 worth of damage was caused to the premises.

Nobody was hurt during the daring raid.

Our picture shows how the raiders rammed through the front doors and windows of the takeaway to get inside.

A spokesman for Letterkenny Gardai told donegaldaily.com that the raid took place between 11pm last night and 6am this morning.

They have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the ram-raid to come forward and speak to them in confidence.

“As this stage we have no description of the vehicle used in the raid or those responsible.

“It was a pretty dangerous stunt and they did manage to get away with a sum of money from the premises as well as causing a considerable amount of damage.

“Anyone who may have witnessed the raid or knows anything about it can contact us here at Letterkenny Garda station on 91 67100,” he said.
