BOG HOTEL OWNER TO FACE ‘SHEBEEN’ CHARGES

May 4, 2011

THE pensioner who runs a so-called ‘Bog Hotel’ near Inver is due in court in June to face charges of running a shebeen.

Patsy Brogan, 73, will appear at Donegal District Court on June 27th next.

Mr Brogan is accused of running an illegal bar on September 25th last year.

He was cleared by a court a year ago of running a shebeen in a shed beside his home when Donegal County Council claimed he was in breach of planning laws.

The judge in that case found the ‘bar’ was not unlike private bars in other homes in the country.
