Club Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin – 16.05.11

The Adult Mens footballers begin their respective Championship campaigns this weekend. The Seniors and Reserves travel to Dungloe on Sunday afternoon with the Reserve game throwing in at 2:30pm and the Seniors getting underway at 4pm. The Junior Men start with  a tough away game in Downings on Saturday evening (6:30pm) and won’t be encouraged by their last league outing. Good luck to them all this weekend. Well done to Rory and Kevin as they helped Donegal to Championship victory over Antrim.

The Senior Ladies recorded a fine away win over Glenfin in the league on Sunday 5-11 to 4-7. They also get their Championship campaign underway this Sunday with a home game against Four Masters. Best wishes to Ciara Grant and the Boyle sisters, Rose and Catherine as the Donegal Minors take on Tyrone in the Ulster Final on Saturday in Irvinstown.

The U-16 Boys defeated Dungloe in their Co. League semi-final and will meet Northern rivals Buncrana once again after the inishowen men overcame Aodh Ruadh in their semi. The U-14 boys defeated a good Aodh Ruadh team to win the Benny Carr Memorial Cup on Saturday at St. Eunan’s College. Thanks to the Ballyshannon club for travelling to take part, and to all the parents that helped out with refreshments afterwards, in particular Mary Maguire.

The U-12 Boys travelled to the Bridge on Monday to play a good St. Michael’s team but put in a good performance in windy conditions to record the win by 4-11 to 2-05, they are at home to Gaoth Dobhair next Monday. The U-11 boys were at home to MacCumhaills and went down narrowly by 2-10 to 3-05 with a late goal sealing the win for the Twin towns lads, they travel to Newtown to take on Naomh Colmcille next Monday night.

The U-10 Go Games are back in action this Saturday (21st) with the U-10’s travelling to Fanad and the U-9’s at home to Convoy.

The U-14 Hurlers had an important win away to Burt last Thursday which has put them in the league semi-final. They are home to Buncrana this Thursday. The U-8s blitz due to be held last Saturday in Letterkenny for MacCumhaills, St Eunan’s and Four Masters will now be held with the U-14s blitz on Sat, 28th May at 12noon in Burt. Congratulations to Aine Dolan & Gavin Craig who each won €100 in the Camogie 100 Club.

The Friday Hurling / Camogie Academy at 6:30pm. The next U-8 hurling blitzes will be held on 12th June and 10th July.

St. Eunan’s U-12 hurlers put in an excellent display of competitive hurling in an Owenbeg blitz on Sunday last. In the four games played Ryan Hilferty and Cian Randles kept driving the team on with the lads adapting to the wintry conditions and drawing 2 and losing 2 games (one match by a late point). The lads displayed great spirit against strong opposition and the weather!
