Letterkenny Rugby Club and Friends of Letterkenny Hospital will host a white collar boxing event involving local celebrities this Friday night – and the gloves are already on for Fight Night 2! (Click the video above to see a preview).
The event will see 30 local celebrities and business people take to the boxing ring with proceeds raised on the night will be split between Friends of Letterkenny Hospital and Letterkenny Rugby Club.
There will be 15 matches on the night and participants include prominent local people including TDs, County Councillors, business owners and employees.
The boxers have been taking part in a 6 week training programme with a qualified boxing coach. On the night, each fight will consist of three rounds lasting 1.5 minutes per round. Boxers have been paired up with coaches in accordance with their weight, age, fitness and skills.
The show is hosted by White Collar Boxing who supply the training coaches, an MC for the eveing from Steanta Sports, a DJ for music and lighting and a qualified referee and judge. Each boxer selects his or her own theme name which will be printed on their vests and they will all have their own entrance music.
The entrance fee on the night will be €20 and the club expects to sell all 1200 tickets.
This event promises to be the biggest and best social event to take place in Letterkenny this year.
