CONGRATULATIONS to the LYIT team who won the Inter-Firms 5k title in Letterkenny on Tuesday night.
They finishead ahead of Carndonagh Community School and Scoil Iosagain, Buncrana,. The ladies team title was won by HSE followed by Pramerica and the Department of Social Protection.
Well done to our own Patrick Brennan who won the individual race in a blistering time of 14.34. There were six Letterkenny A.C athletes in the to ten. They were Ciaran Doherty (3rd- 15.04), Pauric McKinney (4th-15.41), Danny Mooney (5th-15.49), Ivan Toner (7th-16.17), Neil Gibbons (8th-16.20) and Gavin Crawford (10th-16.27). We had 229 athletes in the Hickey, Clarke and Langan sponsored race.
Well done our own Noreen McGettigan who was the winner of the Run Donegal 5k in Glenveagh National Park on Sunday. Noreen, a native of Fanad who resides in Kilmacrennan, was first over the line in a time of 19.25.  This was a fantastic win for Noreen who has been training very hard over the last few months under the guidance of Maria McCambridge and Kevin Toner. Others to feature in the top 20 for Letterkenny included Amanda McNulty, Niona Coyle, Sharon Black, Maura O’Grady and Emma McGee. Over 250 runners and walkers braved the bad weather conditions to take part in the event.
There is a club committee meeting next Thursday at 8.15p.m in Aura Leisure Centre. The lotto numbers drawn last weekend were; 98, 17, 19 and 24. Martin Devlin was a match three winner. Next week’s jackpot is €650.
