IT’S probably the closest she’ll ever get to playing in a Europa Cup Final.
But that didn’t stop Donegal schoolgirl Orlaith O’Donnell, 9, from loving every moment of the big game at the Aviva Stadium.
Orlaith, who is the daughter of Gerard and Clare O’Donnell from Nairn Road in Glenties, won a competition on Today FM to be a referee’s mascot for the final between Porto and Braga.
Lucky Orlaith and dad Gerard were flown to Dublin and then driven by taxi to the Westbury Hotel where she was fitted for her very own referee’s strip.
Orlaith, who is a football fanatic who loves Man Utd, had a fantastic time.
She said “Everyone was just so nice to me and it was such a brilliant day.”
