FAIRYTALE START TO LIFE FOR BABY MATILDA

It’s not every baby can say their godmother is a multi-million euro pop-star who lives in her own castle.

But then again baby Matilda Campbell is no ordinary child.

She just happens to be the niece of singing star Enya who was godmother to the little girl at St Mary’s Church in Derrybeg over the weekend.

Little Matilda is the daughter of Enya’s younger sister Bridin Brennan and her Australian-born Cameron Campbell.

Matilda has one sister, Sinead (4).

The Brennan travelled from Dublin to Donegal for Saturday’s ceremony, which was attended by 30 other family members and friends.

Derrybeg parish priest Fr Padraig O Baoill and family friend Fr Kevin Gillespie officiated at the christening.

Enya travelled from her home at Manderley Castle in Killiney, Dublin; while Cameron’s brother, Andrew, flew from Australia to be godfather.

The singer (50) looked amazing at the service in a long white skirt and short-cut orange jacket.

After the ceremony, she proudly carried the christening candle from the church to a party at nearby Leo’s Tavern.
