Shay Given is on the verge of ending his Manchester City nightmare and clinching a €6 million move to Aston Villa.
New Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has made the Lifford man his number one target after the announcement that his current ‘keeper Brad Friedel is to leave the club next month.
It is believed that Villa can afford Given’s €90,000 a week wages.
Given has been linked with a number of clubs since being put behind City’s Joe Hart in the pecking order.
It is believed that City boss Roberto Mancini has given his blessing to the move.
