Workers put on protective notice

More than 12 workers at a Gaoth Dobhair-based community development company have been put on protective notice. The staff at Meitheal Forbartha na Gaeltachta (MFG) were told that dwindling funds mean they may lose their jobs.


Donegal Garda to have a Rosey time

A Donegal Garda has been chosen as a Rose of Tralee escort for this year’s event. Kerrykeel man Paddy Kelly, 24, who is based in Dublin, was chosen at a selection contest in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny.

Golf club enters a new cycle

Letterkenny Golf Club has come up with a new way of raising money – using a washing machine. Dozens of golfers have been lining up to try their luck after the club introduced the washing machine chipper challenge. Golfers have to chip the ball into the open washing machine at €2 a time.

On yer bike Rev Crooks

A Carrigans-based Church of Ireland Minister next week sets off to cycle the length of the country from Mizen to Malin. Rev David Crooks, 59, hopes to raise as much money as possible for the Donegal Hospice.
