GO DONEGAL! THOUSANDS ON PILGRIMAGE TO CROKER FOR CLASH WITH KILDARE

AN ESTIMATED 14,000 Donegal fans are on the road to Dublin today for the Bank Holiday weekend All-Ireland quarter-final clash with Kildare.

Green and gold is bedecked throughout the county for those left behind in what promises to be a bumper day for pubs and clubs across Donegal.

As usual, all the Dublin pundits are tipping Donegal to lose.

But we’re different up here….it’s Donegal to win for those in the know.

Jim McGuinness’s men are up for the biggest game of their lives; hoping there will be two more even more important games to come.

Gardai and PSNI officers are out in force on all routes to the capital. Tyrone play earlier so the roads from north Donegal will be jammed all day.

The advice is to drive safely and stick to speed limits; and be patient.

Speed camera vans will be dotted along the route.

In the towns and villages of the county, pubs and restaurants are gearing up for the game with special big screens being set up.

From Malin Head to Bundoran and from Lifford to Doochary, all eyes will be on Croke Park from 6pm. The game is Live on RTE2.

Go Donegal….

Donegal: P Durcan; F McGlynn, N McGee, P McGrath; A Thompson, K Lacey, K Cassidy; M McElhinney, N Gallagher; M McHugh, M Hegarty, R Bradley; P McBrearty, M Murphy, C McFadden.

But don’t rule out a certain Mr Kavanagh from starting…..
